The Classic Star from Star Line is manufactured with inert rubber ball and tip ends. This special inert rubber is also called ‘dead’ rubber, which means no rebound and no bounce! When you drop this baton it absolutely stays where it falls. Made from chrome plated steel, this baton is perfectly weighted and balanced for fast rotations, rolls, and ease of handling. The unique star-shaped tip prevents baton from rolling away when dropped and is softer than the regular Super Star baton. Recommended by professional coaches and teachers, the thicker 7/16 inch diameter shaft has a more substantial feel and more surface area for easier handling. The Classic Star is available in every length from 14 inches to as long as 33 inches. *Band Shoppe strongly suggests taking student measurements for the most accurate sizing.
Have the student stand with legs together, back straight, and twirling arm extended parallel with the floor. Using a cloth measuring tape, measure from the base of the neck to the tip of the middle finger – the result is your suggested baton length. If the number falls between lengths, size up.
Note:Â Some groups prefer the method of measuring from the under-arm to the end of the middle finger. Consult your group leader before using this method.
If you cannot take measurements, please refer to the guidelines below: If the twirler is tall for their age, add 1 to 2 inches. If they are small for their age, subtract 1 to 2 inches. These suggested lengths are based on the average student. These guidelines are not a guarantee that the baton will be at the preferred length of the twirler.
